Position: Member Services Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Salaried

Job Summary:

The Member Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Chamber’s strategic programs and community outreach efforts. Working in conjunction with the Director of Communications & Tourism Promotion, this position will provide support for marketing initiatives that advance tourism, implement membership recruitment and retention strategies and help coordinate all Chamber special events and activities.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Functions:

• Recruitment of new Chamber members & retention of existing members through a
concerted sales campaign.
• Assist in the production of program flyers, welcome packets and related marketing
material.
• Maintain the Chamber’s Internet presence and help facilitate its social media marketing campaigns.
• Generate reports that capture website statistics and visitor usage.
• Assist with responding to Public Relations inquiries and related activities.
• Generate reports for tracking media coverage and publicity efforts.
• Assist the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee with the coordination of Chamber
programs and events (Annual Dinner, Cork & Fork, Golf Tournament, Membership
Barbeque, Business After Hours, ribbon-cuttings, luncheons and membership mixers).
• Produce event photography.
• Manage Chamber lists and databases to ensure accurate communications.
• Serve as committee liaison; provide minutes for Tourism, Ambassador and SCACOT
meetings.
• Provide back-up customer service/telephone support to Visitor Center Coordinator.
• Coordinate annual Travel Guide advertising sales campaign.
• Monitor, analyze, and report member successes and key issues.
• Respond to general inquiries and visits from members, prospects and visitors.
• Generate research, reports and documents as required by the Executive Director and
Director of Communications & Tourism Promotion.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in appropriate field OR equivalent work experience in a sales or marketing position.
• Excellent written skills.
• Computer proficiency in Windows environment, Microsoft Office products (including
knowledge of databases and spreadsheets), email, Internet and Social Networking
media. Graphic design skills preferred (Publisher, In Design) but not required.
• Excellent organization skills and detail oriented.
• Excellent oral and interpersonal communications skills (including ability to make
presentations to external members).
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• A self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Team player with the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in a fast-paced
setting.
• Experience in an office setting.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.


Additional Requirements:
• Knowledge of Seneca County and enthusiasm to actively promote the community.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Occasional night and weekend work, including mandatory attendance at all Chamber
events.
• Ability to take photographs with a digital camera.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to perform light maintenance tasks.

Evaluation:

The Member Services Coordinator will be given an annual evaluation by the Executive Director based upon this job description. Additionally, a semi-annual, informal evaluation may be instituted.

Accountability:

As the Member Services Coordinator, he/she will keep the Executive Director informed at all times concerning internal and external issues related to the Chamber and its position in the community. All employees are required to demonstrate honesty, integrity and the professionalism necessary to uphold the respected image of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, employees are expected to maintain confidentiality with regards to access to data handled or obtained in the normal performance of job duties.
