Seneca Meadows Landfill Partners with 2trg to provide Free Electronic Waste Recycling
The Seneca Meadows Landfill and 2trg, an electronics recycling company in Geneva, announced a partnership today to offer free, e-waste recycling drop-off services, at the landfill, for residents and businesses in the Finger Lakes region, beginning Saturday, November 19, 2011. The service includes drive-through unloading of acceptable electronics (see list attached) for secure processing, and will be available on Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The program is closed on public holidays including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Partnering with 2trg for electronic waste recycling is one among many green initiatives of the Seneca Meadows Landfill, including: free residential recycling drop-off for Seneca County residents, a free recycling toter service for organizations hosting large scale events (through a partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension), environmental programming for schools and the community at its Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve & Education Center (through a partnership with Audubon New York), tire recycling, landfill gas to energy production, and financial support for environmentally focused community projects.
